Who are we?

To better answer this question we need to go back a little in history...

Thousands of years before Christopher Columbus set sail across the seas in search of an alternative route to the Indies for the spice trade and Pedro Álvares Cabral arrived in our rich Brazil, “discovering” not only a New World but also new flavors and cultures, several ancient peoples already inhabited the six continents and marked the origin of human history. Among them are the Aztecs, Mayans, Celts, Incas, Aborigines and Pataxós, civilizations that are the roots of the human race and that stood out and contributed significantly to the evolution of our life in society.

OS AZTECAS

They were highly developed, mastered advanced agricultural techniques, cultivated various foods, herbs and spices - among them our beloved peppers - and even had a complex irrigation and soil drainage system.

OS MAIAS

They excelled in architecture, engineering and mathematics with buildings that survive to this day and are visited by millions of people every year. They also created their famous calendar, so efficient and complex that it accurately established the 365 days of the year and served as a reference for the entire world.

They built a complex civilization notable for the construction of a huge set of roads, bridges and water channeling systems and they also created a technique for fertilizing the soil using excrement that greatly helped the development of agriculture.

OS PATAXÓS

The Pataxós are a warrior people who have fought since the times of the Portuguese invasion to maintain their lands and preserve their history, culture, language, customs and traditions. From their official language, Patxôhã, we extracted the word Jokana , which means woman, and gives its name to our line of cachaças.

OS ABORÍGENES

They are the greatest living relic of humanity, recognized as the oldest living humans on the planet and use art as their main means of communication. Their culture is very rich, and they relate to nature as equals, feeling part of it and honoring it in everything they do. The study of their genome has revealed scientific treasures that shed light on essential questions about the past of our species, such as: where did we come from?

The roots of such knowledge are as ancient as they are diverse and strong enough to lead humanity to what we know today and lead us to answer the question that brought you here: who are we?

We are Biroots (be=to be - roots=roots), a brand inspired by the ingenuity of ancient civilizations and the blend of aromas, colors, cultures and flavors of the original peoples and those who came after. We were born from the concept of “it’s from the roots”, we added a Brazilian touch (be=>bi) and perfected the artisanal preparation, creating flavors that go beyond the dish, providing enriching gastronomic experiences to those who share. We like rustic, but we are gentle in our approach, soft in texture and strong in seasoning! We discover ourselves by looking within and valuing our roots. What about you, do you know yours?
